Mr. Loucas E. Symeonides holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Economic Policy from Loughborough University and an MA in Economic Development from Leicester University. He began his career at the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation and has served at the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry since 1990, with key roles promoting services and trade. He has been Commercial Counsellor in Cyprus Embassies in Paris, Berlin, and Athens, and since 2015 represents Cyprus as a Full Member of the EU Trade Policy Committee. He currently serves as Director of the Trade Service and chairs the EU’s Trade Policy Committee, representing Cyprus at EU and WTO Ministerial meetings.
