Euripides L. Evriviades

Ambassador (Ad.Hon.), Republic of Cyprus

Euripides L. Evriviades is a Cypriot diplomat who served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 43 years, beginning in 1976 at the United Nations in New York as a member of the Cyprus Delegation to the Law of the Sea and later as Consul. He served in Bonn (Germany), Moscow (USSR/Russia), and Tripoli (Libya). He was Ambassador to Israel, the Netherlands, the United States, and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. He was High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (2013–2019) and Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization, and chaired the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Board of Governors. He also served as Political Director and Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry during Cyprus’ first Presidency of the Council of the European Union. He publishes widely on diplomacy, security, and Eastern Mediterranean affairs.
