George Stavrou is a Senior Defence Officer at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus, bringing over 15 years of experience in the delivery and oversight of complex, high-value programmes. Prior to his current appointment, he held senior leadership roles as Director and Commercial Manager within private development and operations companies in Cyprus and the Middle East, where he was responsible for commercial strategy and contractual governance. His expertise centres on strengthening commercial controls, managing risk, and coordinating multi-stakeholder engagement within highly regulated and strategically sensitive environments. George is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). He holds degrees in Public Administration (MPA), Sustainability & Energy Management (MBA), Arbitration (PGDip) and Project Management&Surveying (BSc).
