Prabhat Kumar Jha is the Group Managing Director and CEO of MSC Shipmanagement Limited, Cyprus, the world’s largest in-house ship management company, managing over 700 MSC-owned vessels. Part of the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Group, the company operates one of the youngest and greenest fleets globally and holds multiple ISO certifications. A Marine Engineer by profession, he sailed up to the rank of Chief Engineer before moving ashore and earning an MBA from the University of Liverpool and completing the Advanced Management Program at IESE Barcelona. He played a key role in establishing MSC Shipmanagement offices in Hong Kong and Cyprus and oversees MSC Crewing Services globally. Under his leadership, the managed fleet has grown nearly thirtyfold since 2008, achieving one of the highest crew retention rates in the industry (98%).
