Michael Damianos was appointed Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry on 8 December 2025, having previously served as Minister of Health since January 2024. He studied Law (LLB) at the University of Southampton and holds an LLM in International Law from the University of Cambridge, graduating with top academic distinctions. A qualified Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, he worked at leading international law firms Simmons & Simmons and Hogan Lovells before returning to Cyprus to establish his own law firm in 2010. He has also served as a Municipal Councillor in Strovolos Municipality and, since 2018, as Vice President of the Democratic Party (DIKO). He is married with two children.
